Heavy Equipment Operator/Foreman (30-45 min. travel range from South Haven, MI)

Required Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  • Class A C.D.L.-Commercial Driver’s License

Required Experience:

  •  At least 5 years’ experience in a construction related field
  •  At least 2 years’ experience operating heavy equipment
  •  At least 1-year experience driving dump trucks or comparable heavy trucks
  •  Experience mobilizing heavy equipment to jobsites

Preferred Job Skills/Experience

  • Forming and pouring concrete
  • At least 5 years’ experience installing sanitary, storm drainage, irrigation drainage systems and water lines

Role Description:

Equipment Operator/Foreman perform a variety of physical and technical tasks at a variety of construction sites.  This role requires grit, physical agility, and the strength to lift at least 100 pounds.  Operators/foreman are often required to work outside in all kinds of weather or in buildings without heating or air conditioning.  This role requires basic knowledge and application of tools such as channel locks, vice grips, and wrenches. 

Primarily operators will collaborate with office management to devise the best means and methods to successfully complete the job.  They will mostly operate machinery and drive truck but must be willing to help with labor to accomplish project objectives.  May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, cut-off saws, surveying and

An operator/foreman must also evaluate job hazards to maintain a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers.   A strong understanding of basic geometry is highly preferred. 

Basic Job Responsibilities

  • Operate Heavy equipment including: Excavator, Dumptruck, Loader, Semi-Trailer, Skid Steer, Bulldozer
  • roperly load equipment to mobilize to jobsites
  • Lead construction crew with clear oral and written instructions
  • Basic Blueprint reading
  • Strong ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Use clear communication to collaborate with fellow team members
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times
  • Ensure fellow workers wear Personal Protective Equipment
  • Keep jobsites, shop and equipment clean and organized
  • Construct detailed As-Built maps & diagrams
  • Locating Utilities by hand
  • Performing preventative maintenance on equipment

Truck Driver/Laborer (30-45 min. travel range from South Haven, MI)

Required Education

  •  High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  • Class A C.D.L.-Commercial Driver’s License

Required Experience:

  •  At least 2 years’ experience in a construction related field
  • At least 1-year experience driving dump trucks or comparable heavy trucks
  • Experience mobilizing heavy equipment to jobsites

Preferred Job Skills/Experience

Role Description:

Truck Driver/Laborer perform a variety of physical and technical tasks at a variety of construction sites.  This role requires grit, physical agility, and the strength to lift at least 100 pounds.  Truck Driver/Laborers are often required to work outside in all kinds of weather or in buildings without heating or air conditioning.  This role requires basic knowledge and application of tools such as channel locks, vice grips, and wrenches. 

Primarily truck driver/laborer will collaborate closely with operator/foreman to devise the best means and methods to complete the job.  Much of their time will be split between driving truck and working as a labor to accomplish project objectives.  May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, cut-off saws, and surveying lasers.  Truck driver/laborer should also take initiative to occasionally operate heavy equipment, eventually becoming an operator/foreman.

A Truck Driver/Laborer must also evaluate job hazards to maintain a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers.   A strong understanding of basic geometry is highly preferred.

  • Properly load equipment to mobilize to jobsites
  • Locate Utilities
  •  Install Pipe
  • Strong ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Use clear communication to collaborate with fellow team members
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times
  • Keep jobsites, shop and equipment clean and organized
  • Construct detailed As-Built maps & diagrams
  • Performing preventative maintenance on equipment

General Laborer (30-45 min. travel range from South Haven, MI)

Education

  •  High School Diploma or equivalent GED (Required)
  •  C.D.L.-Commercial Driver’s License (Preferred not required)

Role Description:

Construction laborers perform a variety of physical tasks at a variety of construction sites.  This role requires grit, physical agility, and the strength to lift at least 100 pounds. General laborers are often required to work outside in all kinds of weather or in buildings without heating or air conditioning. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, cut-off saws, surveying and measuring equipment, as well as a variety of other equipment and instruments. May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, locate utilities, direct machine operators and clean up rubble, debris and other waste materials.  This role requires basic knowledge and application of tools such as channel locks, vice grips, and wrenches.  A general laborer must also evaluate job hazards to maintain a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers.   A strong understanding of basic geometry is highly preferred.
